About Traditional Chinese Medicine...

“ZYTO is a technology company that produces health related software and equipment to facilitate decision making about healthcare and wellness.

ZYTO technology is based on the body's ability to respond to subtle stimuli. Using the body's natural energetic field, a communication link
is established between the patient and the computer via the ZYTO
hand cradle
. Through this connection, ZYTO sends stimuli and then records the body's response. This conversation is called biocommunication, and it provides insights into health and wellness.” Through reports generated via the scan, individuals enjoy a thorough explanation of their current state of health. This facilitates patient/ practitioner communication for more efficient treatment protocols.

TCM is a system of medicine which relies primarily on the balance between Yin and Yang. As it is now over 5,000 years in its development, its longevity can be attributed to a well cultivated understanding of the Earth’s biorhythms and seasonal changes. The Chinese created myths, legends, symbols,  their language and a medicine through observation of the planetary functions and changes inherent to
those functions.  Yin Yang Theory, Ba Gua, Five Elements, are all ways to evaluate the Earth’s state of balance and a human’s state of balance.

A TCM practitioner uses these principles of balance, and examines them through the quality of, for example, a patient’s complexion, constitution, pulse, and tongue. Many techniques are employed during an intake to evaluate a patient’s condition. A diagnosis is made based on the findings, and acupuncture, acupressure, massage, cupping, moxabustion, herbal therapy, nutrition and lifestyle changes may be used or recommended in order to regain balance in the patient.

The state of a patient’s Qi (pronounced ch’ee), is at the root of a TCM diagnosis. Qi is best understood as animation. An animated object is known to have some force to move its own mass, in cars that is gas, in toys it is batteries and in humans, animals, plants and the planet it is Qi. When one is tired or run down, generally one would be considered Qi deficient.

Methods employed in an acupuncture treatment are selected primarily with an interest in moving Qi. When a patient is needled, the sensation has been historically described as a fish grasping at the end of a fisherman’s line; a small tug can be felt and many feel that there are other places in the body that experience changes as well.
